POY Update

So we're 5.5 months into the 2007 season. I won the Saturday $100 buy-in tournament. We had 23 players. This was enough points to put me into a tie for 10th place out of 117 players on the leaderboard.

I must have went all-in at least 10 times. Each time I had the best hand or was a race that I won (this may have happened just once). I got AA once against AK and the case A was on the flop, so I easily doubled up. When we were down to the bubble (6 players), I had one of the short stacks. I played some tight aggressive poker and took the chip lead. Then I lost it back on one hand where I had JJ vs KK (all-in preflop). Again the short stack, I played well and got down to head's up.

Unfortunately for my opponent, he said he didn't have much experience playing head's up (he's pretty good short handed, tho), so I took this bit of information and ran him over. I mixed my play between agressive and setting traps and took it down on the final hand where he limped in, I raised and he calls. The flop is something like T73 with two hearts. He bets out, and I take a peek at my cards to see if I have a heart, which I don't. I push all-in. He thinks for awhile and decides to call. He shows JT for top pair. I have KK. I have him covered and the tournament is over.
