Finally getting a DSLR

I've wanted to get a DSLR (Digital Single-Lens Reflex) camera for quite some time. I almost got the Canon 30D, but I knew a newer model was "right around the corner". That "corner" turned to be longer than I expected, but Canon finally announced the long rumored EOS 40D. It's a much better upgrade to the 30D than the 30D was to the 20D. Mostly because Nikon has been coming out with good DSLRs and Canon had to do more to stay competitive.

Sales are supposed to start early next month. As soon as B&H has it available to order, I'll likely get one.

right on! way good camera dude. I too was very unimpressed with the differences between the 20D and the 30D. the 40D definitely is an upgrade.

Nikon is expected to announce their new product this week. However, I've always been a fan of Canon in terms of image quality, so unless Nikon's product blows away the 40D and is available soon, I'll likely get the 40D.
