Tower Defense
I've been playing this game which is based on a strategy used in Warcraft called the tower defense (although you can also use towers as offense as well). The basic idea is to setup towers to kill off the enemy. You need to place them strategically and upgrade as needed as each new wave of enemy has more hit points (health). My best so far is to get to the first bonus level (basically level 31) with a score of 1812.

Actually, I just got 3092 on the third bonus round. One tip is to buy as little as possible (just enough towers or upgrades to get the last enemy) as interest gained on unused gold becomes important later on. After a certain level, sell off non-element towers as they are basically worthless against the high level enemies. Also, it's not a big concern if a few enemies make it through as they will be killed when they come back around, not worth the gold to buy additional towers at that point.

how did you get to 18k? I've gotten to 8k, but I never that kind of gold stored up.
do you go the route of getting the combo towers and water?
Here's basically what I do:
1. start with a single cannon in the middle, most of the time, this will take care of all the sheep, but if one slips by, just wait for it to come around
2. upgrade the cannon once, again, if any slip by, they will be killed the second time around
3. get a second cannon, put in upper left, I think you may need to upgrade this one too
4. when you get to the first upgrade, get fire and build a single fire in the middle, I think this is also around the time of the air attack, so build a single air attack tower, sell the tower before the last plan is killed
5. from here on out, you only need to buy fire and use wood to increase interest and nothing else
6. when you get to level 28 and the last upgrade, get water, you should have sold your cannons by now as they aren't doing enough damage, only need fire and water at this point, try to buy only enough that you need
7. I start with a single upgrade to fire and single upgrade to water (I don't have too many water until the bonus rounds), later you may do a second upgrade to fire, but it's better to have more fire than to do the last upgrade
So the main thing is:
1. don't worry about losing people early on, as long as you have 1, you are ok, gold is more important
2. spend as little as possible, sell stuff when they are no longer useful, don't do upgrades until necessary
