The Prestige

So we watched The Prestige last night starring Hugh Jackman and Christian Bale. The movie came out around the same time as another movie about magic The Illusionist, but the two have nothing in common plot wise. The basic story is that the two main characters used to work together in a magic act. But something happens and now the two are competing. The story is told by showing the present day, then there's a series of flashbacks telling how they ended up at the beginning of the movie where the story then continues. Overall, I actually enjoyed watching the interaction between the two main characters and how one was trying to outdo the other. However, I didn't like the "Stephen King" type ending. One of the important things about magic is misdirection and they try this many times in the movie which is what makes it a bit interesting, too bad the ending disappointed.
